BLACK HILLS BORN & BUILT.

Hi, I’m Brady Badwound, a Black Hills native born right here in Deadwood, South Dakota. The Black Hills have always felt like home to me. As a military child, I grew up in different parts of the country, but I always found my way back to the Hills whenever I had the chance to spend time with family.

After graduating high school in Colorado Springs, I returned to the Black Hills to attend Black Hills State University and play football. After a couple of years, injuries brought my football career to an end, and I decided to focus on my education while learning a trade to help put myself through school.

That’s where I found HVAC—and I quickly realized I had found something I genuinely enjoyed.

I’ve always appreciated hard work and working with my hands. There’s nothing glamorous about crawling into a tight space on a hot summer day or troubleshooting a system when it decides to quit at the worst possible time. But there is something incredibly rewarding about solving a problem, helping someone get comfortable in their own home, and knowing you did the job right.

I was fortunate to have great mentors who taught me more than just how to work on HVAC equipment. They taught me the importance of doing things the right way, paying attention to the details, treating people with respect, and standing behind your work. Their guidance helped me earn certifications and experience in refrigeration, combustion, system optimization, safety, and controls. I’m grateful for everything they taught me, and I carry those lessons into every job I take on today.

I eventually graduated from Black Hills State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, with an emphasis in cellular biology and physiology, along with a minor in environmental science. While I’m proud of that education, I quickly realized that a traditional career wasn’t going to give me the same sense of purpose and satisfaction I found in the trades.

That realization led me to start Badwound Climate Solutions LLC.

My goal is simple: provide honest, high-quality HVAC service to homeowners throughout the Black Hills while treating every customer’s home like I would want someone to treat my own.

For me, this business is about more than heating and cooling. It’s about earning trust, building relationships in the community, and taking pride in the work I put my name on.

I want every customer to feel confident that when they call Badwound Climate Solutions, they’re getting someone who genuinely cares about doing the job right.
